Public Secondary School Youths Empowered on Excellent Study Skill and Career Development.

Anglican Grammar School Orita-Mefa, Total Garden, Ibadan, Oyo State on Thursday, 11th of February, 2016 witnessed a re-awakening and life-changing moment after experiencing the Career Development and Skill Empowerment Series (CDSES) organized by Youth Aid Development Initiative. With over 350 senior secondary school students in attendance comprising of S.S.S 1,2&3 Arts,Commercial and Science students, Youth Aid Dev.trained students in quintessential reading, writing and study skill as well as providing counselling sevices to help students gain clarity and excellence in different career paths.
As a volunteer- driven and mentorahip program, we took the initiative to expose and train the public school students in the skills and knowledge that has produced excellent achievers, whose remarkable accomplishments have been felt in the society through feats achieved in their respective profession.

In a youth-friendly environment, participants were put through the step-by-step methods of effective learning including good reading, writing and study principles. Also, through the involvement of the school's Counsellor, students were exposed to the various career paths and  prospects. In the course of the training, special gifts, writing materials, and awards were given to highly responsive students. YADN also identified bright and gifted students as well as putting them through a mentoring program.

The school officials, teachers and students expressed their profound gratitude and decried the deplorable learning condition of the school. The teachers also called for an increased investment in quality education and highly trained teaching staff

The Basic Employability Skills Training for Persons with Disabilities 2018

"It always seem impossible until it is done"--Nelson Mandela. It was a resounding success as we kickstarted the Basic Employability Skills Training for Persons with Disabilities (Project BEST-4-PWDs) in commemoration of the International Day for Persons with Disabilities 2018. This year's theme is focused on Empowering Persons with Disabilities and Ensuring Inclusion and Equality. The BEST4PWDs is a partnership project and a continuous capacity development program for our community of PWds. The program was held on Tuesday 4th of December, 2018 in Ibadan, Nigeria. The workshop centred on developing  Self-Motivation and Leadership competencies, and leveraging on Digital Skills to Fastrack Career Success. There was also a profound session on Job-Readiness(CV, Cover Letter Writing and acing Job Interviews), and portfolio development for job seekers and young business owners living with disabilities.large.
