In the government-owned secondary school, over a 100 students were taught, inspired and empowered with topnotch skills in leadership, communication and effective study. Specifically, the students were taught the step-by-step approach to speaking correct English Language, developing and practising good study habits and achieving success in life. Also, the students were provided with tips on accurately answering examination questions as well as fostering their career path in life. The different sessions involved special talks on chosen topics, question and answers, one-on-one counselling, special games, a photo session among others.
Aware of the condition of the school as being a public school with poor educational facility, YADN provided free training manuals and Guides for all students to help in further learning at home.Active and highly participatory students were given special gifts as a means of motivation for leadership in all students. YADN adopted highly imperatively facilitation methods thereby carrying students along the line of talks presented and thus making learning fun and interesting. This was key to positively affecting the lives of students for the present as well as the future.
The School authority and teachers expressed sincere appreciation towards the humanitarian gesture, sacrifice and support shown to students by YADN volunteers. The students, who were preparing for the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination also expressed a high level of appreciation and requested the continuous organisation of such educational projects both in their school and other public schools of the country. The students also complained about the poor educational standard in public schools, and called on the government to invest in their education and in their future as the leaders of tomorrow.
